How does Private  Auto Insurance work in B.C.?

Auto insurance in B.C. is made up of mandatory  basic autoplan  and optional coverages  two parts. Basic Autoplan is provided by the Insurance Corporation of BC (ICBC) through various brokers.  Private insurers can provide optional coverage such as Collision, Comprehensive, and Extended Third Party Liability.
